Hiraya Chocolates
  • HIRAYA an ancient Filipno word which means "fruit of our hopes, dreams and aspirations.
  • A Filipino bean-to-bar chocolate company who sources cacao directly from local farmers.
MISSION/VISION :
  • To improve the lives of our cacao farmer communities through direct and fair trade.
  • To produce a strong brand of fine quality chocolate and chocolate product.
  • To date, we have (1) one community composed of 58 farmers in Brgu. Malabog, Davao City
PRODUCTS
1) 72% Dark Chocolate Single Origin Davao (25g)   Price : 180.00php
- Fruity with just a slight hint of bitterness. This chocolate is made from the best grade Trinitario beans naturally grown in the scenic highland of Malabag Davao.
Ingredients : Cacao beans, Refined Sugar, Cacao Butter

My Verdict : I love its bitterness that its not that bitter at all but their is still sweetness intack on the flavor.
2) 72% Dark Chocolate w/ Coffee Nibs (70g).           PRICE : 200.00php
- This chocolate bar is inspired by the coffee producers of Benguet and cacao producers of Davao w/notes of dried cranberries, raisins and sweet red wine. This carries the characteristics of these two direct trade farms perfectly.
Ingredients : Trinitario cacao, refined sugar, cacao butter, Arabica beans
My Verdict : When you opened it it has the aroma of the Arabica beans. It also has coffee nibs on it so it will be kinda crunchy when u bite it. It is not bitter as I was expecting it because of the coffee nibs. The taste is just right. Not to much bitter and Not to much sweetness. I think this is great to eat when you are kinda sleepy at work.
3)  Coconut
- Often called the tree of life, all parts of the coconut tree can be used for a purpose. This chocolate bar makes use of both the coconut milk and roasted coconut meat for an especially creamy and decadent taste.
Ingredients : refined sugar, cacao butter, cacao beans (trinitario), milk powder, coconut milk powder, dessicated coconut
My Verdict : A rich flavor of chocolate with a hint  roasted coconut meat. You will feel the coconut meat on the chocolate once you savor and indulge on it.
4) Chicharon
- A unique combination of spicy dark chocolate paired w/ softly and crunchy chicharon. It opens with our signature dark chocolate, punctuated by salty and crunch bits of pork rind, and finally finishes w/ a spicy kick that makes you crave for more.
Ingredients : cacao beans, cacao butter, refined sugar, pork rinds, dried chillies, salt
My Verdict :Once you bite on it there are small bits of chicharon combined with the chocolate. Its kinda spicy but tolerable to add flavor and make you crave for more, This is one of my favorite. Good for people who just want to taste a little snap of chicharon.
5) Quezo de Bola
- The Quezo de bola is a Filipino staple in celebration, most notably during the Christmas season. This interesting and unique combination of rich, dark chocolate paired w/ the salty and sharp flavor of Edams cheese is unique to ignore.
Ingredients : cacao beans, refined sugar, cacao butter, Edam cheese
My Verdict : A rich flavor of dark chocolate w/ a hint of dried quezo de bola bits that is included on the chocolate. I mean there is a real quezo de bola on the chocolate itself. T think this is a good gift for this coming Christmas season because we all know that Quezo de Bola and Christmas is associated with one another.

PRICE
Its SRP Price is between P180-200 Philippine Money.
- I can say that the price is kinda expensive especially if you are just starting, The priice is comparable to the imported chocolate and are more well known than this one. The good side is that when you buy this chocolate think of it as you are helping out farmers in Davao.
